<h4>Summary of Position</h4>The Manager of Tax, alongside the SVP of Tax, will oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions for Starz. This role will play a critical part in ensuring tax efficiency and accuracy while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in tax management and a keen ability to provide tax advice to senior leadership.<h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Responsible for all tax compliance responsibilities, including the income tax provision, federal and state tax filings and tax projections.</li><li>Manages and reviews all components of the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision, including all financial reporting and disclosure of tax components required for Starz.&nbsp;</li><li>Analyzes and reconciles deferred taxes, taxes payable and tax reserve accounts, including ASC 740 &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Manages Sarbanes-Oxley 404 tax compliance and governance, including assisting colleagues in understanding and implementing controls.&nbsp;</li><li>Manages and reviews all components of the federal return preparation process, including book-tax differences, tax disclosure reporting and workpaper documentation.</li><li>Collaborates and communicates with management and other members of the finance department to ensure proper tax reporting and treatment.</li><li>Communicates effectively with management regarding ASC 740 and federal taxes.</li></ul><h4>Qualifications and Skills</h4><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a current CPA license.</li><li>5+ years of progressive tax/accounting/finance experience, including supervisory experience.</li><li>Experience in public accounting and industry, with an emphasis on corporate tax compliance and accounting for income taxes.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience within the “Big Four” firms or other nationally-recognized firms</li><li>Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to develop effective tax policies, procedures and business practices.</li><li>Proficient knowledge in accounting software applications and all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.</li><li>Deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.</li><li>Strong analytical and research skills.</li><li>Advanced technical background in corporate taxation and income tax accounting. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to think conceptually and translate concepts into practical applications and solutions. &nbsp;</li><li>Strong ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. &nbsp;</li><li>Effectively present information to and respond to questions from internal business partners.</li></ul><h4>About STARZ</h4>STARZ (<a href="http://www.starz.com" target="_blank">www.starz.com</a>), a Lionsgate company, is a leading media streaming platform committed to delivering premium content that amplifies narratives by, about and for women and underrepresented audiences.
