Position Summary
St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking a Science Teacher. All teachers are expected to teach within the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity; Community; Service & Social Justice; Scholarship; and Holistic Education. The Science Teacher reports to the School Principal.

St. Anthony Catholic High School prepares young men and women for positions of responsibility and leadership through a college preparatory curriculum based on Catholic values and traditions.

This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Essential Functions


Job Duties


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced understanding of key principles of teaching, learning and assessment;
  • Ability to plan and deliver detailed and well thought out lessons with an understanding of learners’ needs, utilizing an extensive range of teaching techniques;
  • Ability to create assessments that accurately measure students’ learning;
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university.

Required Work Experience
Two (2) years of high school teaching experience in Science or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Texas Teachers Certification.
  • AP certification.





Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
The Archdiocese of San Antonio requires non-certified teachers to have 12 hours of education. Faculty hired without the 12 hours are placed on a deficiency plan and must obtain the 12 hours within two (2) years. Texas certification must be completed within four (4) years.

Work Hours
Mon to Fri 7:30 am-4:00 pm (see faculty handbook)Some night and weekend work dependent on student activity sponsorship and special events such as Open House.

Typical for HS faculty.
