Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Software Engineering (First Year Experience)

Department of Software Engineering and Game Development

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (First Year Experience) faculty positions in the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development with a preferred start date of January 2025. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

The primary responsibilities for the position include teaching and service work with an emphasis on enhancing the teaching mission of the department.

The appointment is for nine months and includes the possibility of teaching in summer. The teaching duties will primarily include teaching three first-year courses per semester with approximately 120 students per course. Courses are taught on both the Marietta campus and Kennesaw Campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Participating in course and program development activities
  • Working collegially with colleagues
  • Student teaching/clinical supervision
  • Advising

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

A minimum of an earned Master's degree, or a foreign equivalent, in Computing or a closely related field is required.

  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
