The role involves partnering with IT leadership, architecture, and development teams to establish and execute technology strategies that align with business priorities. You will collaborate across the organization to leverage knowledge and solutions, report daily status on tech design and resource management, and lead a team of developers, analysts, and testers.

DUTIES:

  • Partners with the IT leadership, architecture, and development staff to establish vision, strategy, and road maps that align with business strategies and organizational priorities.

  • Collaborates with peers and leadership to leverage knowledge and solutions across the organization.

  • Reports to the Director and is accountable for daily status on tech design, development, and resource management.

  • Collaborates with Product Owners, PMO, DevOps, and lead a team of developers, analysts, and testers to define requirements, design, and develop mission critical applications.

  • Leading the delivery of best in class systems to support AutoNation’s business lines, including customer and associate facing applications built on AWS using Microservices Architecture and other AWS components that integrate with existing on-prem AutoNation systems and databases.

  • Analyze, design, and drive development of application solutions and enhancements that meet requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to programming and enterprise architectural standards.

  • Complete work assignments and perform appropriate follow up to ensure that tasks are completed on time.

  • Collaborate with product owners, application users, creative team, and other developers to define requirements, design, and develop the web application.

  • Assist in the rollout of new applications, problem fixes, and enhancements of software. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field required.

  • 8+ years of experience in Java software development demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility

  • Experience leading a team of three or more software developers

  • Experience producing solution designs for large-scale, highly available, mission-critical systems

  • Experience in designing, creating, and consuming Web Services (REST, JSON, OAuth), multi-tier or microservice applications in Java, and large scale database applications; experience in SQL and data modeling

  • Experience in software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.

  • Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.

Pay range for this role is: $169,220 - $171,000 annually
